I just wanted to note that the Torchwood Season 2 DVD boxed set was nominated yesterday (3/10) for a Saturn Award by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, in the category of Best TV Series Release on DVD.

The other show collections nominated are:
Heroes Season 2
Doctor Who Season 4
Lost Season 4
Reaper Season 1
Moonlight Complete Series
The Tudors Season 2

Torchwood will return to the US on BBC America on July 20th, at 9pm ET. Subtitled "Children of Earth," the series will pick up with Captain Jack, Ianto & Gwen dealing with the loss of two of their closest friends and facing a serious threat that may spell doom for Torchwood & humanity. It will also help launch BBC America's new HD service. Wink

"Children of Earth" will be released as a three-disc DVD set on July 28th.

Torchwood will be back in the States for a new season of 10 episodes in the summer of 2011, but not on BBC America.

The premium cable channel Starz will now carry the series and share production costs with the BBC. The focus will also change to a more serialized, North American-based style... including adding US actors. In other words, the characters won't be tied down to Cardiff.
